3 Ways to Spruce Your Home for Summer

Sun rays are peeking in, freckles are beginning to make their appearance, and scents of born-again flowers are pouring in our lungs with every breath… summer is almost here. Whether it be slow mornings with coffee on the back porch, or late nights gathered around a bonfire, there is something about summertime that brings a new sense of joy and life to ourselves and our homes. Here are three tips to spruce up and prepare our homes for this blissful upcoming season that is just around the corner.

1. Bring the Outside In

Bring the best of what is outside in. Regardless of where you find yourself, fresh flowers, greenery, and plants make the inside of your home feel like a natural, summer oasis.

2. Lighten Up!

Ditch the heavy textures and colors that accompanied winter time with lighter, brighter materials and color palettes. Consider keeping the window treatments simple, with white or cream sheers, replace the heavy comforter with an airy duvet, or switch out the napkins on your dining room table for something more light and airy. Making simple changes can completely transform your space to feel like a breath of fresh air.

3. Add a Pop of Color!

Summer brings out the bold side in some of us…Don’t be afraid to portray that in your home! Whether it be adding fun-colored throw pillows, or a more vivid rug, just a hint of color can give any room new life.

Whatever and wherever you are, I hope you embrace and love this season in your life and in your home!
